Willow New Bridge & Dylmatth Sands
OO Gauge by Philip Brown
This layout is eleven feet long over all and nine feet wide over all. Trains
can be run on a continuous circuit, or ran from the fiddle yard on the
out side track through the main station, Willow New Bridge, and ending
at a terminus Dylmatth Sands, which is a small seaside resort.
The layout was started in November 2005 but is as yet unfinished,
still scenery to do and other features like more people and bits of
line side rubbish to add. The frame work is made of two by one inch
timber and the base boards are made of three quarter inch chip board.
It is removable in parts, so it can be moved if I really need to do
so.
The layouts loco's consist of a Flying
Scotsman, A class 2p(British
Rail), A Fowler tank and a class 60 EWS, all Hornby. There is also
a
class 42 (Green), a 66 EWS, a Virgin 57 Scott Tracey and a class 170 DMU
Turbo Star (Central Trains), all Bachmanns.
There are 15 carriages consisting of Virgin and LNER teak, also some
British Rail mark ones. There are a few coal hoppers and some sliding
wagons around as well.
It is set in 2005 and is not ran to any time tables it is purely for
fun and running trains, as you can tell from the loco stock. Myself
and my two sons, one seven and one two, spend many hours playing
trains.
