NEW BRYFORD
OOGauge By Mick Bryan
New Bryford is a 'oo'
gauge Exhibition Layout which featured in the October
1999 Railway Modeller. It is a fictional station
portraying the current railway scene in the North West of
England.
Construction of the
layout has followed conventional practice, with 3"x1"
softwood frames, and chipboard or sundeala tops, with all
joints screwed and glued. The boards are connected
together with over-centre case clips and aligned by dowel
pins. Multiple pin plugs and sockets accomplish all cross
baseboard electrical connections. Using these methods,
the layout can be set up and ready to run in about half-an-hour.
During transit, the baseboards are bolted together in
pairs, face to face, to form a rigid box, which will
withstand some rough handling.
Many thanks to Mick
Bryan for allowing us to show
