Hillsville
OO Gauge by
Brian Galpin
This is “The Hillsville
Model Railway” , all the way from New Zealand, a small OO British
themed layout I built in 1985 for my youngest son Andrew who was 10 Yrs
old at the time.
All the buildings are
from cardboard kits. The locos & rolling stock being a mixture off
Hornby & Lima. It is fitted with several un-coupler ramps at strategic
places. All points are equipped with Peco solenoids, operated by a probe
& studs on the control panel.
The turntable is
electrically driven from a home made mechanism.
The layout is run with a
series of ‘flip cards’ with instructions, so the operator knows what the
next move will be. It all worked well for a number of years, & was
eventually sold.
You can see all the model railway layouts featured at SimplyTrains on the layouts page. [more]
