GLOUCESTER ROAD
NGauge By Stephen Lawrence
Gloucester Road was
started in 2000 when we moved into our first house. Living in America
with limited access to prototypical information and
British N Gauge; Gloucester Road has no era or livery sort of a
mixture of what I can get a hold of.
Built in N gauge
Gloucester Road measures 19ft by 8 inches and runs point to point with
a fiddle yard at one end. All track is Peco with hand operated
isolating switches. Buildings are from the Graham Farish line as is
the rolling stock; some of the backdrop is hand painted mixed with
photos of trips home to England. The hills in the background are from
a panoramic picture taken from the Malverns.
Locomotives consists of:
2 class 27 British Rail, 1 class 08 British Rail, 1 class 159 Network
Southeast, 1 HST 125 British Rail, 1 Southern general purpose tank.
Nonrunners, 1 class 86 British Rail, 1 class 47 Network Southeast, 1
class 37 Railfreight.
As they say a layout is
never finished. Would like to get the nonrunners going, also plenty
of detailing to do; recently have taken a keen interest in Network
Southeast. With the reintroduction of Graham Farish hopefully British
N Gauge will continue to see improvements.
