ELTON JUNCTION
N Gauge By
Julian Slawson
Elton Junction is a N gauge model railway
set in a fictional North London suburb.
It consists of a four track circuit, fast up, fast down, slow up and
slow down with sidings, diesel washing facility, refuelling facility and
carriage sheds. Stock is mainly in Network South East livery.
The track is by Kato, engine sheds, station, signal boxes and office
buildings are also Kato, the washing facility is Heljan and the other
buildings are Kestral kits. Other scenics have come from a wide range of
sources.
The layout measures 6' x 4' on Sundeala boards with timber frames and
stands on legs made from staircase spindles purchased from the local DIY
store. Operation is via two Gaugemaster Model Q controllers. It has
taken approximately four months to build.
