BROOKFIELD
EMGauge By Ray & Cida Earl
This layout and collection was modelled by Ray and Cida Earl.
The scene is pure fiction and represents an attempt to build a fine
scale exhibition model railway, as opposed to a model of an actual
railway. The diorama features a small railway terminus, a canal
complete with lock and an industrial line serving the local, highly
prosperous 'Round Tuit' industry.
The rolling stock and motive
power are kit built, the points and track work are all from the 'C&L
Fine scale' range. The model is set in the late 1920's,
'Brookfield' (the name borrowed from the BBC Radio 4 series 'The
Archers') is a small market town. The aim of the model is to
present the viewer with a nostalgic, slightly rose tinted, three
dimensional picture of a bygone age, the moving trains provide
additional animated theatre.
