ALSDORF
NGauge by Al Prescott
'Alsdorf' is a fictitious railway based on photographs
taken whilst on holiday in Switzerland. The layout runs completely
automatically using Infra-Red detectors which trigger
Modules for power. Polarity changes, Signals and Points
etc.. It took five months to build and is virtually a
board full of electronics with a small Railway on top.
There are always seven Locos in use at any one time. I
have tried to build up a stock of Swiss Locos, but mainly
due to cost there are several German, French and Italian
which find their way on to the layout. (Al Prescott)
This
is a great little layout to go and see at the exhibitions
if you can. There's always something happening on it. Even
the vehicles are amazing, some having been fitted with
working hazard lights.
